Baker entrusted the veteran David Livermore with the new ball and the Northerner more than paid his captain back with a fine spell of hostile fast bowling. With the wind behind his back Livermore bowled 13 excellent overs from the football ground end, generating considerable movement, pace and at times steepling bounce that proved far too much for a fragile and youthful Irthlingborough batting line up. Rob Pardon tirelessly charged into a strong headwind from the other end and was rewarded with a well deserved wicket for his efforts when he had Banks caught behind. Only the Irthlingborough opener Jack Fleming (9) and the big shot playing Areez Rahman (15) offered any significant resistance to the Livermore onslaught and the visitors found runs incredibly hard to come by. It was the introduction of spinner Shaun Boyson to replace Pardon that finished off the lengthy Irthlingborough tail. Unable to predict what Boyson would bowl next (as was Boyson) four Irthlingborough batsman perished to his well flighted off breaks and Irthlingborough limped to a paltry total of 71 with Livermore finishing with an outstanding 5 for 18 and Boyson a solid 4 for 9. The Heyford bowlers were ably supported by some impressive fielding with Tommy Whit and Ross Cambray particularly sharp when patrolling the covers, some decent glovework from Matt Baker who caught two and narrowly missed out on a sharp legside stumping off Boyson. Chairman Legge took a diving catch in the gully to the relief of Pardon/Boyson who had somehow combined to spill a chance the ball before in the slips off Livermore. Particularly noteworthy was a great catch by first team debutant Dion Harrison who successfully hung on as the ball hit him in the midriff at square leg. After a truly magnificent tea prepared by Rob Pardon, Ifan Jenkins and Ross Cambray opened the batting . After a solid opening stand Jenkins was bowled for 9 by one that jagged back sharply off the seam and was pretty much unplayable... Rory Smallbone then joined Cambray at the crease and together they built a lengthy partnership but the difficult pitch conditions meant Rorys trademark booming cover drive was less impactful than normal and he was dismissed for a patient 11. With some textbook straight driving past the bowler Cambray was the only batsman to past 20 in the game but his dismal for 24 preceded a flurry of wickets with Baker sent back to the pavilion after scoring 8, closely followed by Tommy Whit who can consider himself unlucky to have been dismissed for just one run when caught at cover (despite this looking suspiciously like a bump ball). This left the task up to the experienced Ed Rogers and Chairman Simon Legge who both calmly steadied the ship and saw Heyford through to a 5 wicket victory in front of the considerably number of Heyford supporters who had braved the elements. -/1234[\]ࢅjL1j5h.5B*CJOJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH ;h.h.5B*CJOJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH 5h.h.B*CJOJPJQJ^JaJnH phDDDtH 8h.5>*B*CJOJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH 8hJ-5>*B*CJOJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH Ah.h.5>*B*CJH*OJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH >h.h.5>*B*CJOJPJQJ\^JaJnH phtH 34\] LMAB$d-DM a$gd.d-DM gd.$d-DM a$gd.] -KLM@AḆ̱̱̱̱̱̱䱭hJ5h.h.B*CJOJPJQJ^JaJnH phDDDtH /h.B*CJOJPJQJ^JaJnH phtH 5h.h.B*CJOJPJQJ^JaJnH phtH 21h:pJ.
