HEYFORD CRICKET CLUB

Club re-established: 1977   Heyford Playing Fields, Nether Heyford, Northampton

Welcome to the Heyford Cricket Club website.

We've tried to design a site which we hope will be accessible to players, members and visitors. At Heyford we try to mix good cricket with good fun.

We play to win but we always try to play fair and we hope that all our guests will feel welcome, both on this site and more importantly when you visit our ground. Our 1st XI have managed to achieve promotion during each of the last four seasons, gaining promotion to Division 4 of the Northamptonshire Cricket league for season 2008, and our 2nd XI also gained promotion to Division 11 in their inaugural season.

Matt assures me that the 1st XI are now statistically safe from relegation.  2s edge closer to the championship

IMPORTANT - END OF SEASON PITCH MAINTENANCE HELP URGENTLY NEEDED

Date:   Sunday 14th September (reserve day Sunday 21st September)

Time:   9:15am (before car-park fills up)

1.       Usual pitch work (spread seed & loam)

2.       Remove sightscreen netting and store frames

3.       Paint top-coat on veranda

4.       Re-paint external changing room doors

5.       General tidying up of playing fields (lots of debris in far corner needs collecting )

Note that Heyford FC will be playing a match between 10:30 – 12:30 which is why we need to get materials delivered before the car-park fills up. Pitch work can be done while their match is on and hopefully the veranda/doors can be painted after pitch work is finished and the football match has been completed.

We are all happy to use the club; the least we can do is contribute to its maintenance, so no excuses please, and a decent turn out to help Kit.

THE 'INJURY' LINE  Oh Johno!!!! Surely that's not eye-shadow?! Good 50 though  ......  Pecky scheduled for cartilage ops on both knees (both at once?!) at the end of the season but will be back for 2009. Will he return before Bakesy and Roscoe?
